With all the talk about gifting wine on here today, I thought this wine appropriate. It was given to me as a gift and is probably the first wine gift I've ever been blown away by. And no, it wasn't given to me by HoHoRivard®!
Decanted 2 hours. Dark red in the glass. A moderate nose. I was slightly disappointed. I wanted a bit more here. But, it had plenty of baking spice and fresh leather. Surprisingly savory.
On the palate, a very good wine. Dark fruits and velvet mouthfeel. The tannins are extremely well integrated. A very nice finish. Paired very well with the Fromager d'Affinois.
Great wine!
24hr EDIT: came back to this after saving some in the decanter. Wonderful. There is an unctuousness now that makes this feel like a 10year aged wine.

Sep 1st, 20152012 vintage. Our first bottle of this year. Excellent! As good as the 2009. Great nose with hints of cherry and good legs. Deep plum flavor and finishes with leather and chocolate! Very good!
