I've had this twice recently. The first time, it had been open for hours; and I noted that classic, Chinon-like pencil shaving/graphite aroma and dark, bitter chocolate cherry fruit on the palate. I liked it.
However, I liked it even more the second time, tight out of the bottle where it showed much more ripe, brambley raspberry fruits, and great interplay between juicy acidity and firm tannins.

2013 vintage. Odd nose, band-aids. Med richness of fruit, tannic finish, odd wine overall.

Two blond 15 miles east of Yakima zillah 100% varietal at least in barrel December. A very pretty bouquet violets lavender blackberry blueberry fruit black earth very intense and complex array of aromas. Wow an explosive wine on the tongue with a long layered finish black spice and that floral nuance from the nose lasting through the finish. Finish 50+ killer
