Dark red purple (almost completely to the rim) in the glass. Nose and palate of blackish purple fruit with a touch of vanilla. Full body, medium tannins (surprisingly), and medium minus acidity. Nonetheless, this still seems a better wine with food than on its own in the glass. Pasta, cookout fare, chili, beef (of course), and perhaps game fowl would make excellent pairings.
