Disclosure- I'm Alona's consultant. Alona has stellar Merlot, a great old vine Carignan and lovely Syrah; I didn't hold their Cab Franc in such high esteem. This bottle was a nice surprise. Colour is medium, not very deep; nose is a mix of ripe berry fruit and a savoury touch, not at all green; very soft and polished tannins and just the right acidity backing the fruit; again it's ripe but in balance. Not a very concentrated or profound wine but very high on the immediate pleasure factor.
