New Release Alert!! This brand spanking new 2013 'Wandoo' from Alkoomi in the Frankland River (Great Southern, WA) is a straight Semillon from a single block of vines. Half of the juice for this vino is fermented in French oak and the other half in stainless steel - after 5 months on lees (leftover yeast particles from fermentation) they are blended before bottling. It retails for approx $35.

Crisp lemon colour on the eye with a rather weighty nose full of melon, florals and a sprinkling of vanilla. It has a simply gorgeous mouthfeel with intricate flavours of candied lemons, apples and white peach. It's crisp and angelic (aka 'exceptionally beautiful') both inside and out.

All opinions are based on my own taste buds. Wine is subjective & always evolving, so make sure you drink what you enjoy! #gifted #tcweekdaywine

Dominant scent of lemons, and then a floral backdrop, a touch of oil too. More lemon on the palate, round, generous, and a nice finish. I wouldn't have guessed the age. It's holding up well for 10. Good wine, yummy and interesting, but lacking a depth and complexity to really shine
