Great 1st wine of 2023 (if we don’t count the Niepoort 20 tawny early this morning). 80-120 year-old vines. While it’s low abv (12.5) with a light mouthfeel, it’s really intense, multi-faceted, and pure. The chocolate notes complimented the chocolate we nibbled and the rich flavors were not overwhelmed by the sting cheeses we were also enjoying here in the Douro.
