As the ancestor of the California zinfandel grape, I was excited to try a wine witn primitivo at its heart. Thankfully, Agricola Surani certainly didn't disappoint.
On the nose I got a strong dose of ash, copper and strawberry. As it hit the mouth, the first sip was packed with acidity with a sherbet finish. As the palate becomes accustomed, it soon turned into vibrant and refreshing strawberry. When combined with the low-mid tannins, this makes for a bold wine for all year round.
