Mushrooms, licorice, cinnamon, and spice in the bouquet and aromatics department.
Wanted a juicy, spicy, medium to full bodied red like a Grenache/Syrah from Gigondas or Vacqueyras, and while this bottle is a little offbeat and interesting, it sort of falls flat toward the end and undercurrent making for a bit of an underwhelming drinking experience.
If want a bit more bracing acidity or just a punch of juice to balance out some of the more astringent qualities.
Still not bad though! Just not great either.
