Version White Rhône Blend
Paso Robles, Central Coast, California, USA
42% Rousanne, 42% Viognier, & 16% Grenache Blanc. I always have such high hopes for CA white Rhone blends, but they all too often fall short, taste fabricated, & show entirely too much heat. Nose is overripe and tropical, & brings more then enough baking spice. Vanilla extract, brown sugar, & nutmeg are overbearing. Listed at 14.8%, but I would bet that's low. Finish is blasted by its abv, & all sense of balance, & small lot craftsmanship is lost. Any suggestions for CA white Rhone?

White blend with character and personality. The ripe stone fruit flavors from Viognier and the more floral Roussane with a little grenache blanc to finish the blend. 10% of the wine was fermented in neutral oak giving the wine some complexity and waxy texture without tiring the palate.
