@Delectable Wine : This is the AK Cuvée Chardonnay. I didn’t see it in the database.

One of the wines I opened for my annual WWC hosting.

This is a barrel select version of both Ritchie & Purrington Rued (I believe there is a small bit more of Ritchie than PR here). Again, really fun to try all three next to each other. Compared to the other two in the glass, this took some time to unfurl. A bit reserved at first, it really bulked up and put on a show towards the end, and it truly comes across as a blend of the two vineyards. Aromatically the floral component of the PR plays well with the nuttiness of the Ritchie. Baking spices, honeysuckle and ginger dominate. On the palate, it has gorgeous texture…full bodied but not in any way overblown or out of control. Layers of sweet lemon cream, orange blossom, honey roasted cashews and sea salt. Showed its youth more than the other two, and I see nice improvement on the horizon, even though it sure is delicious now.
