Hmm....like a dry reisling meets garganega meets a sur lie muscadet. Nice but non-essential. $23

First Kerner. Have heard that this is one of the better ones out there and I can see why; it's quite good. Pours a medium (-) straw-gold hue. Aromas of lemon curd and slightly underripe mango, fresh mint, slightly funky wet stone minerality, lavender and gardenia floral character, and a bit of creamy, leesy hard cheese rind character. Palate shows the same character as the nose but with a bit more clean, lean mineral intensity and the slightest bit of phenolic bitterness. Medium (+) acid, medium (-) body with nice leesy oiliness. Dry but not completely bone dry. Interesting, to be sure! Kind of reminds me of a middle ground between the drier styles of Alsatian Pinot Gris and dry Alto Adige Gewürztraminer.

Piggelin och mineral! Friskt och gott men måste vara ruggigt kall för att inte bli platt och fadd.
