A rich and delicious blend. On first opening it was sweet fruited and rather simple. However, after about 2 hrs of decanting fruitiness gave way to an excellent earthy character that balanced the structure perfectly. The wine is dark fruited, lightly spicy (black pepper/baking spice) and forest floor earthy. Hints of fig and dried plum round out the body that finishes long. Drinkable on its own but would also be excellent with rosemary and mint lamb or fall vegetable dishes. Nicely done. Should age well for at least a decade.

1 person found it helpfulOct 8th, 2019Picked this one up for fun on the way out of the wine store, went blind, just looked interesting. It’s definitely Paso Robles with plenty of fragrance and some sweet fruits. It’s way too hot though, almost fortified and leaves too much of a burn at the back of the throat. It’s not an unpleasant burn in that it’s not overly acidic but it limits you to one glass only and that needed to be cooler than normal.
