Deep, dark red. Brooding, youthfully medicinal aromas of red cherry, dark berries, mocha and cocoa powder. Dense and tactile, with dark cherry, raspberry and spice flavors showing enough sweetness to support the wine's salty minerality. Bright, dark red. Slightly high-toned aromas of dark cherry, menthol, earth, leather and minerals; I might have guessed Nuits-Saint-Georges. Surprisingly supple and sweet in the mouth, offering considerable early appeal. Not especially complex but nicely full and satisfying. Bright dark red. Open-knit aromas of raspberry, brown spices and chocolate. Densely packed and velvety for the vintage and for the cru, with red berry, brown spice and iron flavors complemented by a salty quality. This rich, rather pliant 2014 finishes with excellent length and smooth tannins. While it should offer considerable early appeal, it also has the stuffing to age. Bright medium red. Reticent but very pure aromas of red cherry, spices and tobacco. Offers a lovely silky texture for the vintage, showing as much earth and tobacco character as red fruits and flowers. Not a particularly sweet style but distinctly fleshy in the context of the vintage. Moderately saturated medium red. Complex nose melds strawberry, flowers, game and mocha. Deeper than the Morey-Saint-Denis Clos Solon; brisk, salty and concentrated, offering considerable personality and sex appeal. Deep, bright medium red. Knockout nose combines dark raspberry, clove, licorice, white pepper, minerals and earth. Conveys incredible inner-mouth lift considering its thickness of texture and spicy intensity. Really spreads out to saturate the palate. Saline, superconcentrated, pungently mineral wine with a firm tannic spine, integrated acidity and extraordinary rising length and solidity. This is almost painful today... Medium red. Highly complex, aromatic nose combines raspberry, underbrush, flowers and spices. Juicy, energetic and mineral-driven, if a bit youthfully imploded (and still affected by the bottling). Not a fat wine but with its flavors of red berries, mocha, earth and brown spices it's an essence of Morey-Saint-Denis. Good dark red. Wild, highly complex nose combines dried rose, minerals, smoked meat, tobacco and a note of caramel. Plush and smooth yet with terrific flavor definition and a light touch to its flavors of red berries, spices and dried flowers. Offers outstanding breadth and restrained sweetness, with a late note of tart red berries perfuming and extending the finish. Medium red. Sexy scents of cranberry, dried flowers, dried herbs, pepper and spices. Wonderfully dense and sappy on the palate. In a cooler, more metallic style than the Clos de Bèze but with superb precision and energy. Harder to taste today but the wine's tactile palate-staining finish and uncanny energy suggest that it will be a real long-distance runner.
