Dark cherry, earth, and mushroom. Delicious now but plenty of life to it.

Great tannin balance. Pears, Fuji Apple, savory. Near peak!

Some oxidation of the fruit, but lean mineral driven carob and bright acidity.

Oddly, better on it's own than with the lamb. With the lamb, it gave off an astringent, moldy cellar quality. On it's own; cream blackberries/raspberries, dark cherry liqueur, semi-cooked rhubarb, mushroom, dark earth, saw dust, hay, clay pot, leather, vanilla and a classic Spottswoode elegant finish with a touch of funk. To be fair, I'm about 3 years late on enjoying the 95. However, still an enjoyable wine 20 years later.
