2013 tasted in 12/2018. Deep dark purple, full bodied. Very fragrant ripe black fruit and oaky spices, sandalwood, dominate the nose with a suggestion of minerality and surprisingly of green pepper, despite its ripe appearance. There is also something savory and meaty about it as it opens up. Palate predominantly characterized by the same full bodied black fruit character, slightly astringent tannins, kind of a lingering bitterness in the finish which is not unpleasant. Tannins are still young in this behemoth of a wine. Great depth, concentration, and complexity. Vines are apparently over 100 years old. Great bargain.
