Last week was a combo of 4th Friday and Open That Bottle Night on back to back nights. Needless to say, the lineup between both days was full of heavy hitters, so I’m only posting standout bottles.

A really nice Rhône white courtesy of the tandem François Villard and
@Donald Patz . Floral notes of honeysuckle, lemon, sea salt and soft pineapple. Waxy profile that I tend to get with these Rhône whites, showing thyme, hint of orange blossom and honeyed stone fruits.

Owner/Winemaker Patz & Hall

François et Donald refer to François Villard of the Northern Rhône Valley and Donald Patz (me) of California. Together we crafted this wine - selecting grapes from the mighty @alderspringsvineyard then barrel fermenting the grape varieties separately before blending a couple of months before bottling. Bright, fresh and lively - this is atypical of most California Marsanne wines or Roussanne wines for that matter. Drink it young I think - but I know I will keep a few for curiosity sake to see how they age.
