On the brutish side, & decant absolutely mandatory. A serious, or as serious as a dolcetto can be, with harder edged black fruits, & fine if not puckering tannins. Rosenthal book

Always feel this has a joyful purity, much as my fave Beaujolais does

Stand by goodness. Lots of body and fruitfulness without being a kick in the mouth

Nose has a dusting of dirt, rose petals, black cherry, black current, blackberry (so dark fruit). The pallet has a rush of acidity that just makes the mouth salivate with that bit of tannin that leaves the tip of your tongue dry. There’s definitely time left in this bottle. The taste is a lot of the same as the nose with more pronounced dirt and minerals. It’s yum and definitely holds up to a peppery steak.

More tannic than expected, but balances the lovely dark plummy notes. Slight smoke and violets. Not the greatest pairing- butternut squash raviolis a little too sweet for this wine.

Red fruit and mushroom on the nose. Good acidity. Mineral core and finish. Savory and serious.
