Blackberries, pepper and some floral notes on the nose and palate. Tannins are still present. Some lingering spiciness in the finish.

2015v. Deep violet with a bright lighter violet rim. A very complex aroma: dark plum and blackberry jam dominate, but I definitely get some bacon or cured meat and a hint of lavender. On the palette, the ripe dark fruit comes first, followed by some savory flavors of black olives and some cigar box on the finish. Youthful tannins coat the mouth with a little chew. My first Chilean syrah was a good one. A good mix of new world ripe fruit with just enough complexity to keep you interested while you drink. 15% ABV.

Surprising to me. I'm not a South American wine fan.
