Broken Stones Red Rhone Blend
'13. A little bit more tannic than the Booker vnyrd. Can you taste 7% rousanne and tempranillo? Maybe in secondary development in a decade. Easier to see where this one will go long term, still easy to drink now.

Aug 30th, 2017Broken Stones is usually one of my favorites of Justin’s wines. This is another excellent example. Lots of dark fruit. Tannins are still sturdy but the fruit cushions them.

1 person found it helpfulMar 8th, 2021It was not good. Nearly sweet on the palate. Just remakes of over ripe fruit with no structure. Major disappointment

May 25th, 2017Another absolute beast. The fruit and the winemaking here are world class, impressive blend of mismatching varietals that come together to create something greater than the sum of its parts. Had high 90pt potential, but a little detectable heat on the finish dampened things a tiny bit. It will last a very long time, but I would love to revisit in 5-6yrs.

Feb 18th, 2017Deep ruby and purplish red. Layered nose with black olives, dark fruits, anise, and a little woody. Love the complexity and layers in the nose. A touch of floral too. Full bodied and heavy tannins (8/10). Savory attack with olives and then layers of dark fruits. Great iron notes and a touch of gravel. Long and never ending finish. Drink till 2032.

May 4th, 2016This rocks. Rich, dark fruit, hint of anise, earth and iron... plush texture.

Nov 23rd, 2017Cocoa, ripe fruit, pretty extracted but nice tannins and pretty good acid to balance it. Not sure it can stay in harmony with more age but tastes good now.
