13 tasting like a monster. Bordeaux style. Tannic, eucalyptus, dried fruit mid palate, woody and tannic finish. Huge wine. See you in ten years.

Oct 11th, 2021A lot of spice and complexity to this one. It’s a big difference from the 2014.

Aug 12th, 2018First of all, how is this wine clocking in at almost 16% alcohol?! If it was from Paso I could understand that level, but I'm a bit surprised by this wine from Alexander Valley. Yeah, the alcohol is there, but it's nicely folded in with the black and blue fruits, the tobacco pouch and the light spearmint and green bell pepper (again, green bell pepper in at hot wine - what is happening?!). And then that blast of used book shelf joins the fray, wet wood - this is all pre-sipping. The palette is one where you stop caring about dissecting and just focus on straight enjoyment. The tannins are soft, and acidity balances and...honestly, just drink it. Delicious. Great with a filet, but it didn't even need it.

Oct 27th, 2017A beautiful, well balanced blend of blackberries, blueberries raspberries...just big-time fruits. But it doesn't just stop there, there's a touch of smoke and dusky dark goodness, wet leaves and tobacco.
Drinking brings all the fruit you expected from the nose driven by an acidity that seemingly fades at the perfect moment into a beautiful cocoa tobacco wet forest floor. Tannins are extremely polished and the alcohol is relatively hidden considering it's almost 16%! An awesome pairing with our filet minion, biscuits and potatoes.

Medium ruby color with a nose heavy of black cherries. Also pick up notes of black pepper, vanilla, and a slight bit of tobacco. Full-bodied with firm tannins. Great balance. Would imagine this might age well.

Jul 21st, 2017Not sure if this is a Jackson property but it's approaching Vérité quality for Sonoma fruit. Big, smooth mouthful and nose of liquorice, wall of fine tannins. Coffee and baking spice. Huge promise for the cellar. Impressed. Nice list at Grill @St. Regis SF!
