Opened very slowly. Little sediment and only light staining on the cork. This was without signature for the first 30 minutes. Very slight cherry and tar notes. Pleasant but nothing much evident. After 2 hours of decanting it opened and was more resonant but it never exceeded “generally nice”. Nothing was amiss but nothing zoomed or was special. Finish was not particularly long. Tannins were mellow. Bouquet was modest but somewhat inviting. Color was pale with orange rim. This was an auction purchase.

Intense and delicious barolo. Yes, consuming way to young but a classic in the making. Had this at a friends 50th birthday party so he paired this with the 1968 vintage. Amazing but you coukd tell the wine were cut from the same cloth though 49 years apart. Super fun tasting.

The mouthfeel. That is the key here right now. Texture was glorious. Quiet nose was elegant. Too young, too early, yeah yeah yeah. Don't bother. Heard it all before. You got to drink them to know them.
