Riserva Salice Salentino Rosso Malvasia Nera Negroamaro

This wine is such a treat to drink. Is it the most complex wine in the world, no, but it does have everything that makes me happy. Savory aromas, forest floor, dirty fruit with dried herbs, orange peel and an awesome tannic finish. The texture is so silky and its drinking beautifully right now. Our new house wine for sure.

Dark brick red. Sort oxidized on the nose. Like dried fruits and apple cider. Flavor is tart and classic Italian. Lots of cherry. Some smoke. Hint of strawberry jam. Lovely balance. Licorice/anise comes later. Juicy but rich. Southern Italian wine wins again!

Found it a little gritty and pretty tannic. This is not a wine to drink without food ( as so many Italian wines are). I wonder if this was a scorcher of a year.

Yummy dark fruit and nice tannins. Perfect for pasta or pizza.

Nose of dirty diapers, but not so bad as it sounds. Nice tannins and fruit, but the finish feels a little burnt.

Bright dark cherry first plush (barely dirty) affect tightly tannic, but lying down nicely after only 15 minutes of open-air foreplay - twirling, twisting, kissingly sipping, dipping then leisurely, but passionately finishing while glancing back then directly eyes-to-eyes all plus'd up by sweet Toni's gorgeous smile and alluring words, as Chef Abraham serves up a perfect thick-cut prosciutto, thin-crusted runny egg-topped pizza encouraging round after round all in their cozy mid-block location (between 1rst & 2nd on E. 81rst) offering just enough fringe to flavor the flair toned by the bluesy tunage (think Amy Winehouse) and warmth - a proper groove packed with substance and depth, much like the wine!

Mon coup de cœur du mois.

Well evoluted wine. Particularity of being a negroamaro. First alcoholic note at 14%. Tannin well blend. Do not drink it too cold, the acidity will dominate with tight tannins. Beautiful wine at a low price if you like evoluted wines.

Ready to drink now, or for another three. This is date wine.
