This wine doesn't contain any huge fruit or spice but instead presents as a remarkably complete wine, overall. Only the tannins stand out, but the wine is an absolute joy to drink, no pairing required. Just a wonderfully complete wine that stands tall all by itself.

Tasted this blind and couldn't decipher exactly what it was, but what it definitely wasn't was my kind of Bordeaux. It was extremely smooth but weak, lacked fruit and earthiness, and can't live up to the price. Had hopes for this one, but just didn't come through.

Excellent wine. the tannins are strong but fruit extends for at least a few minutes. great balance and phenomenal example of Leognan

RIP Mr. Wilmers, popped this when I heard of his passing. A complete wine that is drinking exceptionally well. In this vintage I have trouble noticing a difference between it and the big wine.

Understated elegance, just like its late owner.

Decanted in glass for an hour and drank over 2. Improved with time. Fruit forward. Medium body. However finish was a bit short. Hopefully better day 2

Better on the 2nd night as it didn't have to follow the likes of Corison and Domaine Eden. Earthy and rich, but finish is flat. Revising up my score a bit!

Definitely ready to drink. Solid, balanced Bordeaux blend- great with a pork chop or steak.
