The bright red color gave no indication that the '92 Whitehall Lane Cabernet Sauvignon was over the hill. The bottle was not corked, but the dusty fruitless nose did nothing to entice me to even taste, which of course I did. The only flavors were sour and tart leathery notes. I guess the regular bottling was not built for aging like the reserve and single-vineyard Whitehall's. Oh well!
