Saint-Julien Red Bordeaux Blend

Pure, dark black fruit and compote more suggestive of Napa than Bordeaux. Huge, tannic and powerful. I’d let this rest at least 3-4 more years.

Big doughy rich and not ready yet

Perfect timing. The 2004 is showing beautifully now. Just the right amount of Brett and big floral notes. Great structure and bright fruit.

Better than the last one I opened a few weeks back.

Nose here has loads of well defined blackcurrant, black cherry, plum, new and rather plush leather and then some red fruit coming through, seems quite youthful. Palate also seems somewhat youthful, tannins are tightly grained, fruit is fresh and firm, still plenty to come from this.
