Santa Barbara County Syrah

Smoke and Fun.

Deep purple (All I hear is buuuuuurn!) core. Blackberry jam, grilled plum? A bit of a roasted meat character. Palate is layered, showing bright fruit, followed by a savory mid palate and finishing w a stinky smokiness. Yum.

Nice meaty syrah, plenty of fruit to balance out the smoked bacon and olive notes.

Black and blue fruit, smoked brisket and clove. Really nice minerality for a Syrah.

Wow. This is the third time I've had this. Total bottle variation!!! Completely unlike the first two. Not corked. Too acidic and out of balance. Minus 1 point for severe variation.

Hints of plum, clove, mild acid, velvet mouthfeel. Balanced tannins.

Chalk. Round. Ripe red / brown fruit. Anise. Roasted quail notes.

Pedal to the medal in a rush. No elegance here. This is full on. Stewy and plummy on the palate with dark fruits and sense of mild residual sugar. This keeps going for a while!

Overall, a nice wine. Good fruit forward nature and moderate finish. Very good QPR
