I had this delicious Syrah from the late colleague and friend Mike Bonaccorsi cellared for at least 8 years. In great shape, with still deep, smoky black fruit and velvety tannins. Worth the wait!

This was one of those OMG wine moments. Dude, this wine abides. Dude, this wine really pulls the room together. This wine is the DUDE! Inky black, cork stained to the core; I could sign my name with it. Explosive aromas of dried flowers, roasted plums and smoked meat followed by a mouthful of dark chocolate covered cherries, cinnamon and a woodsy patina. Finishes with gobs of bacon fat and silky tannins!

Hands down the best domestic Syrah I have ever enjoyed! Believed only great Syrah came from the Rhone until tonight. Very well balanced and not a ridiculous fruit bomb.

Absolutely amazing. Rhone like meat and bordeaux like earth. Called left bank blind. Upon the initial pour manure and mulch jump from the glass with nuanced dry black fruit. Lead and pencil shavings with a cedar tone. With time, the glass developed into a closer representation of what a domestic syrah should be but still miles ahead of most because of its insane earth. Like new world fruit concentration meets the dankest earth of the old world. I was left intrigued, confused and reminded of why i love wine so damn much.

Maybe best Cali syrah I've had. Wilted flowers, pickled blackberry, sweet Kalamata olives--meaty on the palate with salami and black pepper notes, super smoky on finish. Everyone likes to call their Syrahs rhone style but this hits the mark!

Complexity over 2 days. Initially more a fruit bomb (think Aussie Shiraz). Day 2 brought smokey meat and a Côte-Rotie clone! Super interesting
