Pale white with a hint of salmon pink. Flavors of lemon peel and grapefruit rind (yes, language is funny). Slightly tart in initial pour. Still assessing, let it open up a bit. Dilute lime emerges after an hour. Winery tasting notes mention that this is bone dry, with three vineyard components adding green apple, peach and red apple flavors. I get subdued flavors of the last two, especially red apple skin, but no malic acid or Granny Smith in this to my tasting. The zero residual sugar is impressive, as the high acidity makes for a great food wine here. 1368 cases made

Yet another vintage - 2017. Pale yellow white, excellent clarity. Floral, piney and vanilla notes in nose. Melon-cantaloupe, pineapple and stone fruit flavors, wow. Slight-to-moderate skin astringency on front of tongue in finish with citric-orange-grapefruit rind and pineapple flavors and tartness in the aftertaste. Dryish, good acidity, rounded mouthfeel. A refreshing fruity Riesling so typically well done here, though I’m hopeful the astringency moderates with a bit more aeration. After one hour, astringency moderated, and lactic character in finish emerges. Wait an hour on this one if you can.

Different vintage - 2016. Pale yellow white, excellent clarity. Funk and white floral notes in nose. Faint honey and lactic notes in mouth, dry, long neutral finish, more creamy than mineral, slightly crisp. A hint of spice in aftertaste. Moderate fine-grained skin astringency, noticeable but complementary in context. Needs time to develop. Some wood gradually emerges in nose and mouth, while Riesling varietal flavors (perfumed, slightly bitter) emerge after 45 minutes.

Pale yellow , excellent clarity. Litchi and spice notes in nose. Off dry to dry, good acidity, floral, spice and wood flavors, mild lemon and spice finish, aftertaste. Well made, as one would expect from this producer. Slightly bitter Riesling varietal character is there, but nuanced expression five years plus after harvest; allow 90 minutes after opening for this to emerge.
