Absolutely beautiful on the nose which maybe set us up for disappointment in the palate. It was everything a big Napa cab should be, but that’s it. Really nice and reliable, but a bit uninteresting imho. Will revisit remainder of bottle on day 2.

Aug 27th, 2021Big Calistoga cab. Mostly earthy/mineral driven. Decant for a long time to mellow it out. Heavy wine. 2010 vintage, so 10 years of patience contributed. Liked a lot.

Jericho Canyon cabernet sauvignon. The bouquet is easter Lilly’s and rhubarb pie. This amazing wine opens up with blackberry and dark cherry. Then cmes the fig and graphite. The tongue then starts to feel the oak and concrete. There is a rush of smoke and then the finish is so dry you can’t produce a single drop of moisture in your mouth. I love it!!!!
