Deep purple red. Notes of eucalyptus, cassis, mushroom, wood and cherry in nose. Chewy tannins, cherry and wood flavors dominate. Good fruit with length but overoaked for my taste. 8.5/10 at first opening. Much improved fruit, wood flavors substantially diminished after 24 hours. Requires decanting, 9.1/10

I just spent the whole day bottling this wine, so this is hot off the presses and boy am I tired. Big and powerful, but not over the top. Obviously needs some time.

Opened a magnum tonight, wine almost all the way up the cork. Corked pushed in a little when we put the wine key in but it still tastes ok. Funk on the nose, almost some fresh cut grass. Nice and smooth. Nice wine.
