Last night's Amarone.

Medium/full body, dried dark fruits, earthy tones, black licorice...classic valpolichella.

A local casual dining room with an Italian focus offers their limited but interesting wine list at half off bottle pricing. When someone is going to pour good wine at this price (and was the dishes) I return often. Last night this smooth, round wine accompanied a beef/lamb/pork ragu. Terrific!

Tangy. This is not rich Amarone. It was snappy.

aromas of old wet cedar wood, balsamic, marshmellows, earth, dried sage, charcuterie, both organic soil and crushed rock....the mouth is cool and clean- black licorice, anise, dried mint. beautiful.
