Whitecliff Vineyard & Winery Reserve Riesling 2013, New York
My first New York State Riesling, and what a nice surprise.
Pale gold in color with a light yellow hue.
Wonderful nose of tropical fruits, spices, lemons, gooseberry, white flowers, citrus and minerals.
Medium to full-bodied with a great mouth feel and buttery. Medium plus acidity with great legs.
Dry and fruity on the palate with lemons, tropical fruits, bananas, coconut, cream, minerals and salt.
Long finish with white pepper and almonds.
Smooth, elegant and enjoyable by itself and Very well balanced. Just wonderful.
This is my first Finger Lake wine, and it is wonderful. Hopefully this continues...
The grapes are from the Hudson Valley, and fermentation is made in Stainless Steel. Vegan wine too.

Very nice subtle red. Light pleasant nose. Well balanced fruit and tannin with subtle lingering finish. Not bold - but unique and worth a try. — 3 months ago
Cherry notes and flirty. Great for a summer day if you find Surah top heavy. Lovely buttery aftertaste. Go New York! — 3 years ago
A mild red wine (not too sweet, not too bitter) that is great with dinner! — 5 years ago
Just short of a 90 for me ... but one of the best Hudson Valley reds I’ve tasted. Pleasant nose, a little bite of tannins at the front, but a really pleasant and long lingering finish. Maybe needs another year. Overall a good value and if you can get to the vineyards - the view is spectacular! — 4 months ago
