This may be Jeff’s best extraordinary barrel yet! This particular vintage is from Boushey’s Birdhouse Block. Dare I say I almost smell a bit of plum on the nose with a mix of dark cherry and a hint of chocolate? Either way, a fantastic barrel. — 4 years ago

Last vintage from Underwood. Nice pink color, still fairly bright for a 17. Nice amount of acid, bone dry. Very nice. Happy I still have one left. — 4 years ago

Columbia Valley, Syrah. Moderate pigment extraction, excellent clarity, purple red. Raspberry on nose. Cranberry and raspberry flavors with some seed tannin. Moderate body, just enough acidity, lightly tannic mouthfeel with fine grained seed and skin tannins. Some Mourvèdre and Grenache added, but not much. Blend of their single vineyard Syrahs, mostly. Good value, has some character and plenty of fruit. — 2 years ago

Yup the second bottle definitely held up. I didn’t think I was the biggest fan of the Destiny Ridge Syrah, but Jeff has convinced me with this wine. There’s a reason this is the “Best Barrel.” Yum. — 4 years ago
