Pollino Terre Di Cosenza Magliocco 2016

Light color, with dry flower petals, red fruits on the nose. Really good balance, fine tannins. Really enjoyed the wine. Kinda similar to Sangiovese. — 5 months ago

Bodegas Amaren

Crianza Tempranillo y Garnacha 2013

Medium body; great nose and balanced acidity and alcohol content. Perfect with or without food. — 7 years ago

Serracavallo

Terraccia Rosso Magliocco Blend 2006

Took this one to a bottle share and it was one of the top wines there. Drinking amazing now and glad I held onto it. Tons of life in it and it could've laid down for another several years just fine. No sign of secondary character yet. Earthy iron, and ripe blackberry. Needs Rosemary lamb!! — 8 years ago

Masseria Falvo

Pircoca Riesling 2018

@Delectable Wine the wine is 65% guarnaccia and rest split between malvasia bianca, moscato, riesling and traminer
Pircoca is the dialectal word for peach, actually the local variety i should say
It goes without saying the wine smells and tastes of peach, it's almondy, it has a citrussy apple too
But peculiar is its mineral side, quite metallic and salty. Not completely dry, but quite in balance with the mineral, you sort of can't feel the sweetness
It plays a song with not to many loud notes, but in the end it is interesting and queffable
Winery to explore on the Calabrian side of the Mount Pollino that dates back to 1727, it needs a visit

Terre del Gufo

Chiaroscuro Rosé Magliocco

Tsuyoshi Enoki
8.9

Chiaroscuro Terre del Gufo / Terre di Cosenza 2012
Clear deep orange to bright red color with tear drop. Fascinating color.
First scents: pomegranate, cherry, cherry comport, dried dates, walnuts, raisins, dried pineapple.
Second notes: plum, red shiso (Japanese herbs ),
Third aroma: black olive, oil, sweet red fruits, ink, rubber, blood.
Crispy acid and deep powerful sweetly sour attack with nuance of fruits, barrel, olive oil, vanilla, woody or sherry like brewed hint. Good bitterness. Complexity. Interesting taste.
