This is a good example of a wine really growing on you as it opens up. With 4 years of age, this 100% estate merlot was still playfully sweet with its red fruit introduction. however as the meal was wrapping up it started to take on more classic Virginia (king family) varietal character. Day 2 was quite impressive - as I felt I was really drinking pure Merlot. Definitely the sign of a good wind wind this progressive revelation happens :) — 5 years ago
Absolutely delicious! This is perfect for a nice fall or winter night, either served as a digestif or alone. — 7 years ago

Man, this one gained elegance in the bottle over a decade. This was my very first Tomasello purchase (at their tasting room). ** still plenty of structure at 11+ years for the single varietal. A distinct concentration of CF flavor that is not normally found in Virginia. A touch of elderberry was found. — a year ago
