A definite 94 tonight, with some stiff competition but still held itself well and was several people's WOTN. This wine is a darker expression of cab at this point. Lots of blackberry cassis, blueberry, and truffle in the entry and middle. The wine seemed to almost get a little more youthful in the middle and finish, and I was very glad that it was enjoyed tonight along with a 99 Rudd, a 98 Phelps Bacchus, and a 95 Togni. This wine will continue to benefit from some additional time in the bottle. Very happy that I opened this one tonight for the group. Compared to the Levante, this Ponente seemed to express itself much earlier without as much of a decant. — 4 years ago
Fantastic, old school, rustic Carignan that went great with spicy tomato sauce. Sends a jolt of wild berry and tart cherry across the palate, tight and wound up like a drum. Very tense, quite tannic, this needs either time or lots of air, and food is a must. The finish and the overall impression lingers quite nicely. This bottle generated conversation around the table, got people's attention. This is exactly what is needed when it's needed. Tons of charm. — a year ago
I have been a Lewis fan for years. Glad to finally see them get the accolades they deserve, being listed as Wine Spectators top rated Wine of the Year 2017. Unassuming and dedicated to making the best wine every year, the have quietly been making it to the top of a lot of other people's list. This is the Reserve, so it is a great plus to their regular Cabernet Sauvignon. Deep and dark, plums and licorice, and a lingering finish. The nose is amazing. Decanted for 2 hours, it was perfect with the bone in filet. — 5 years ago

Pale pink/orange, clear.
Smells of raspberries, sweet strawberries, cranberry cocktail, sweet ripe honeydew melon, hibiscus, faint citrus. Makes my mouth water.
Sweet taste, with bright acidity. Light bodied, berries, berries, berries. Tastes like strawberries and tart cranberry, juicy. Long sweet finish. Happy and sunshine-y.
Well balanced, good acidity. — 2 years ago
Seems to be a split opinion over this. Wild ferment was left to its own devices. Apricot which transitions to an almost olive tapenade sort of profile on nose. Really interesting, even if the end result may not be to some people's taste. — 4 years ago
