This wine is developing nicely. Last tasted six months ago, when it was still coming together and dominated by top notes of red candied fruit and a funky bass note, it is now integrating with promise of better things to come. Estate fruit, a unique blend of Grenache, Syrah and... Metlot! — 9 years ago
Not very sweet for a chard, but still too legit too quit. So dope, so smooth. Owners said it’s all the grape and you know what? They legit — 7 years ago
If you let it open up, you get those deep blackberry and dark cherry notes! Yumm! 🍇 — 8 years ago
Crisp. Very little oaky flavor. — 9 years ago
K mostly this post is like “look I’m a certified somm only 12 of 36 of us passed!” But also like fuck yah this rosé I think I’ve reviewed before but damn it’s a celebration wine. Full. Not sweet. Not dry. Pretty as F. Peaches raspberries vanilla acid and damn it’s good to drink something I won’t be blind-tastes on. Even though I somehow blinded my way through four wines this morning. Before theory and service. Egads so tired so happy didn’t think I’d pass this test! — 7 years ago
It looks light. It tastes not. Well light in body, but more complex than you might imagine. Unless your imagination runneth over. In which case you might MIGHT imagine an acidic shortbread cookie, infused with some citrus and wit — 9 years ago
"Odedi"
Light ruby in color with a wide reddish/ brick/ orange rim.
On the nose cherries, blueberries, barnyard, earth, wood, light vanilla, licorice, spices, vegetables, leather and black pepper.
Medium plus in body with medium plus acidity and long legs.
Dry on the palate with cherries, strawberries, red currants, oak, smoke, tobacco leaf, spices, graphites, herbs, bell pepper, dark coffee and peppercorn.
Medium finish with fine grained tannins and tangy cranberries.
This Old Vine Zinfandel from over 100 year old vines is nicely balanced with nice complexity and a very elegant mouthfeel.
Needs a couple of hours to open up properly and remove some of the acidity.
This 6 year old, is a gentle wine to drink by itself with good friends, or with food.
Not a typical California Zinfandel.
I paired it with light appetizers.
14.5% alcohol by volume.
89 points.
