Barbera d'Alba Superiore 2018

This was an excellent Barbera and a great surprise since I had never heard of it before. A touch of oak but fully integrated at this point. — 2 months ago

Barolo 2013

In the western part of Piemonte the soils are Tortonian, younger calcarious marls. La Morra is here where Nebbiolo came from a single vineyard for this wine.
After 5 years it’s big on aromas (cherry, brambly, dried cranberries, dates, licorice, underbrush, black olives, tar, saw dust) whereas the palate is more subdued. Medium acid and body, it needs time for the firm drying tannins to relax. Very good quality.

Nebbiolo d'Alba 2013

From La Morra- Clean, light garnet, medium intensity aromas of red fruit-bramble, saw dust, dates, dried cranberry, black olives. After 5-mins cherry, underbrush, licorice, dried roses and a hint of tar showed up. More on the nose than palate. Firm, structured, drying tannins are substantial. Medium acid and body. 100%Nebbiolo. Food wine! — 8 years ago

Sorì del Ricchino Dolcetto di Diana d'Alba 2013

First enjoyed at Guru at an epicurean event. Now in the deck with great friends and an amazing BBQ dinner. 35c is the temp but the wine never wilted. A nice fruit essence of plumbs and black current — 11 years ago
