La Stoppa

Ageno Malvasia di Candia Blend 2010

After work grilled cheese and orange wine it’s the little things! I love these wines for some they are a little too funky but I always find them to be on the nicer side of natural! This taste of Orange peel and herbs and dry earth 😋😋 — 8 days ago

L'onesta Lambrusco Rosé Blend 1919

Zingy and thrilling lambro like a gluglu cranberry cocktail that feels like a celebration or a beverage depending — 3 days ago

Venturini Baldini

Montelocco Emilia Lambrusco

Fucking great but also I’m sad because I hoped it would be at least off-dry on my radar bc I’m a selfish writer writing about off-dry things but I’m still writing about this because IT IS GREAT. AND DRY!! Yay Lambrusco. Ripe n red. It is a pleasant friend with just pleasant tang. Also balsamic af. I like, you will too. — 13 days ago

A very upper class name! Cheers!🍷

Podere del Palazzo

Don Pasquale Sangiovese

A good wine but not excellent. The texture is just too soft. Needs a stronger acid backbone. Otherwise, the fruit flavors are nicely accented with cut flowers on the nose, and slightly spiced on the palate. — a day ago

Lini 910

Labrusca Emilia Lambrusco Rosé

NV. Definitely dry with rich color for a rosé. Dried strawberry, dried raspberry, red plum, dried rose petal, little bit of leafiness, chalky mineral note. — 7 days ago

Sânta Lusa Albana di Romagna

Lovely textures of spice and apricots. But fresh. Another Emilia is genius. Sad you don’t see these wines at more shops in NY. But that’s another tangent... — 3 days ago

Azienda Agricola Sella del Bosco

Sella del Bosco Bramaterra 1970

Leather, tobacco, tar, clove, sanguine characters, balsamic oil. Sour cherry, salinity, and sanguine overflows the palate. Elevated acidity. Diminished tannins. — 6 days ago

La Stoppa

Trebbiolo Rosso Barbera Bonarda 2017

Love this. Delicious aromas burst out of the glass. Lots of blackberry and cranberry. This wine is bright with great acidity and at the price point, a lot of complexity both in smell and taste. This is a buy by the case kind of wine to share with all your friends. — 7 days ago

Podere Pradarolo

Vej Bianco Antico Malvasia di Candia 2018

Vej is not subtle about its affiliation with Orange. This sees a full 90 days of skin contact and reminds me of an equally polarizing wine - Ageno from La Stoppa. I believe they are both made from the same unique grape (unique from Malvasia at that).

If you like orange, if you like juicy hazy IPAs, if you like huge tannin, you’ll love Vej. Beautiful copper gold. Aromas of yeasty peach skin and spiced apricot. Bitter grapefruit and biscuit.
