A benchmark 10 year tawny. Best around the third day of exposure to air--the wood is perfectly integrated and infuses each sip. Lovely complexity and freshness. Great QPR as well. Only topped by Ferreira's ethereal Duque de Bragança 20 year--for me, the apogee of tawny. — 7 years ago
We don't often drink Sherry but when we do its nutty and sweet. Very complex with a long finish. Visited Del Duque often in the mid 80s so I was probably around when this 30 year old sherry was first out in the barrel. Glad to be here waiting when it got out. — 9 years ago
This one could be a crowd pleaser, but unique with the Touriga National base. Not a lot of spiciness from the Syrah comes through but just a touch of the funk. A light dustiness too, but the overall feel is fresh. I really like this one a lot. I'd serve it at a party. — 6 years ago
Smoking rubber on the nose and palate, medium to full bodied. A little one dimensional but not to a fault. — 10 years ago
Dao, Portugal. It takes a while to open up but when it does it is all mature fruit and concentration. — 7 years ago
Opens full but closes dry - complex and structured but somehow light enough for summer sipping. Excellent — 8 years ago
