Bodega Mendel is a boutique winery with an incredible story. Combination of 1928 Argentinian Malbec vines and other Bordeaux varietals provide a combination of sophisticated structure with enough complexity to keep the palate engaged. My favourite wine from Mendel. — 5 years ago
A bit on tannic side, needs 15 min to open up. Good with food - lamb, steak — 7 years ago
Super classy and still fun — 8 years ago
A nice raspberry nose... On the palate, raspberry, blackberry, tree bark, and earth... The texture here is really nice with powdery tannin... It ends a bit limp, but a nice glass nonetheless. — 9 months ago
Aromas de abacaxi, pera e maçã. Fresco, boa acidez e muito prazeroso. — 5 years ago
Really enjoyed this and would definitely buy again. 65% Malbec, 25% Cabernet, 10% Petit Verdot. A little bit of the petit Verdot earthiness on the nose. Like other Mendel's, fairly acidic but also dark and fruit forward. Somewhat inky but acidity cuts it. Well balanced. — 7 years ago
This is their Chenin. I’ve requested Delectable add it.
On the nose; wet wool, white citrus, pears, some honey, pineapple, beautiful minerality, nice chalkiness, and yellow & white florals.
On the palate; the body is medium full, pear, some honey, pineapple, beautiful minerality, nice soft chalkiness, and yellow & white florals. Very similar to Loire and drinks better younger, yet will still age.
