Another benchmark white burgundy from Pouilly-Fuisse! 30 mins decanting. Pale golden color, medium plus viscosity. On the nose, bouquet was fantastic. Grapefruit, peach, tropical, lilac, and wet stone and flinty. Confirmed most on the pallet with nice long mineral finish. Dry wine, medium acidity, medium plus body (but no oak characters), medium minus alcohol. Well balanced and linear. Still not sure how to start pegging the terroir in the white burgundy AOCs to what’s in the bottle (outside of Chablis, which I am getting ok about picking up). Perhaps the more fuller body on this wine with tropical notes and medium acidity point to the southern and warmer climate appellations in Maconnais! — 4 years ago
