@delectable this is the XVI. Declassified Boca Rosso from Piedmont. 55% Nebbiolo/30% Croatina/10% Vespolina/5% Uva Rara. 400m sites in the middle of the woods on porphyry-rich volcanic soils. Ivano works the vines organically and by hand, including manual harvest. The fruit is destemmed and fermented with native yeasts in stainless steel tank with a two-week maceration. The wine is aged in a single 1700-liter Austrian oak cask for one year and then for another year in bottle before release. — 14 days ago
The first wine of our wine progression dinner with Gino and Tia. Such an amazing Pinot from Mnt. Edna that doesn’t taste like a Pinot. So spicy, minerally and rich dark fruit that resembles a high end Southern Rhone. Paired phenomenally with the peach caprese, the varsi salami and the Jarlsberg cheese.

I had 2017 vintage Gino Rinaldi single vineyard and it was excellent. Fruit forward l, but balanced well with oak so not jammy. Delicious! — 4 months ago
Perf everyday white! Herbal, citrus and orange blossom with a touch of salinity. Crazy aromatic! — a year ago
ZD Winery began as a partnership of two aerospace engineers whose initials formed the name of the winery: Norman de Leuze and Gino Zepponi. A full-body Pinot! Deep Ruby with berry aromas and garden spice. On the palate strawberry and cherry fruit with vanilla spice and cedar notes. The wine is well structured, silky smooth tannins, balanced acidity carry the wine to a lingering finish. Very Nice! — 3 years ago
