Awesome big bold Napa style cab, drank with dinner at the Ritz Carlton Bacara with Dave and Kat — 5 years ago
Deliciously tart and sweet! — 6 years ago
I keep calling it a “fun” wine. Lively and provably doing it a disservice by having it with pizza, but enjoying it all the same! — 2 months ago
Dry and bold, good wine — 3 years ago
We fell in love with this wine at the Bacara, Goleta, CA Sept 23, 2016. I've had a hard time locating more to buy and ship to his home in Montreal, Canada... — 9 years ago
At Bacara w/Shana - mineraly / Shana like lots. — a year ago
Deep ruby in color; blackberries, black plums, and tabacco smoke on the nose; medium plus acidity; high tannins; tastes like blackberry sauce, black olives, black pepper and a hint of potting soil with a long finish. Nellie and I both like it and think it paired well with Cajun Fries from Five Guys. I think it would pair well with Texas barbecue. — a year ago

I bought this one at a liquor store that really trends to the cheap and cheerful... But, it was worth the pickup... A really dark, opaque color in the presentation... On the nose, this was blackberry, raspberry, cranberry, and bramble... On the palate, my first thought was pickled, green strawberries... Green pepper... But don't sleep on that cran-raspberry... There is fruit, it's just not the initial blast... The structure feels precise and clean. Graphite. Pretty tight tannin here though I'm not sure aging would be the choice here. Just drink now I think. The elevated acidity played very well with the beef stew I prepared especially with the parsnips oddly. To me, the finish again came back to the green notes with a medium length. Maybe I buy this again or maybe I don't, but this is the kind of wine that would be fun to dial in against a number of dishes... That parsnips pair would be interesting to explore... Not for everyone, but interesting. — a day ago
