Dense and rustic Portuguese Field blend of Alicante Bouchet, Touriga National, Tempranillo, Syrah and Petite Verdot. Dark purple/black color with slight lightening along the rim. Aromas of ripe black fruit, roasted herbs, leather and dried earth. Flavors of black plum, blackberries, minerals and espresso. Long finish and (even with eleven-plus) years of aging) very noticeable tannins. Rich, plush and concentrated. Savory and very complex. This one needed the bottle age. — 8 months ago
