Cantina di Negrar

San Rocco Domini Veneti Amarone della Valpolicella Classico

Tasting with Salvo Tomasi (who I once met as my tour guide in COS Vittoria, Sicily); at #gamberorossoworldtour in Sydney Town Hall; here he represents #veneto with Cantina Negrar San Rocco 2008 bottling, single vineyard Amarone della Valpolicella; and heavily represented at this tasting; — 10 years ago

Cantina Don Tomasi

Sicilia Cabernet Nero d'Avola

Interesting blend of Nero D’Avola and Cabernet Sauvignon. Dark and opaque ruby color. Intense nose features red plums, strawberries and tobacco. Both red and dark fruit dominates the palate with additional flavors of tobacco, earth and toast. Minerals on the long and lingering finish. Firm tannins and high acidity. Bold, powerful and intense. Thanks for this one, Ron B! — a year ago

Arianna Occhipinti

SP68 Bianco Terre Siciliane Albanello Muscat of Alexandria 2013

"Love. Of course, love. Flames for a year, ashes for thirty." This well-known quote by Giuseppe Tomasi di Lampedusa' s The Leopard, sum up in few words who's the true enemie in aging wine and waiting too much before you die: the time! Arianna's SP68 white - she's a sicilian native as the writer of The Leopard - is here to remind us first of all that life is too short to collect so many wines without knock them back sooner mainly when they're pleasant fresh and fragrant; therefore that her wine more than others, is a flame of supreme love, though, we must drink up before it turns into ashes! — 9 years ago
