The 2017 Saint-Véran Les Pommards has a gorgeous bouquet with yellow plum, nectarine and white peach aromas. This wine has a sunny nose for want of a better expression. The palate is honeyed on the entry, quite rich and expressive yet balanced. There is a waxy-textured towards the finish with a touch of white chocolate and almond that linger on the aftertaste. Very fine. (Neal Martin, Vinous, November 2021)

The 2016 Vosne-Romanée Les Petits Monts 1er Cru includes 40% whole bunch fruit. It has very fine definition on the nose: wild strawberry and raspberry, rose petal and a touch of vanilla. The whole bunch is very deftly used here. The palate is fresh and full of vigour, finely chiseled tannins with a detailed and slightly floral finish. Superb! (Neal Martin, Vinous, July 2018)

Very nice! Pleasant with slight buttery end notes. Served with Macadamia crusted Halibut and Kale/Roasted Beet salad. — 5 months ago
The 2017 Nuits Saint-Georges Les Vaucrains 1er Cru has a fresh, tertiary nose with perhaps just a touch of brettanomyces, though it opens nicely with aeration, a pleasant ferrous element coming through. The palate is medium-bodied, taut and fresh, with sappy red berry fruit, fine delineation and a prudent sprinkling of white pepper toward the finish. This is a well-crafted Nuits Saint-Georges with plenty of personality. Tasted blind at the Burgfest 2017 tasting. (Neal Martin, Vinous, January 2022)

Belle découverte , Les Maoû. Des vignerons très sympas, amis avec Martin Juneau. Un bon vin léger pour les après-midi d'été. — 5 years ago

The 2017 Chambolle-Musigny Les Amoureuses 1er Cru has a tight, quite backward nose that demands more coaxing than Christophe Roumier's Les Amoureuses , but it is easy to fall for the dark brambly fruit mixed with sous-bois and light tobacco scents. The palate is medium-bodied with edgy tannins, zesty and quite citric, offering desiccated orange peel and blood orange flavors. Fresh and sorbet-like on the finish. This Les Amoureuses should age with style. Tasted blind at the Burgfest 2017 tasting. (Neal Martin, Vinous, January 2022)

The 2017 Pouilly-Fuissé La Croix Vieilles Vignes was bottled at the same time as the 2018 because they felt the wine had so much tension. The 2017 has an energetic bouquet with pressed yellow flowers, white peach and light touches of mandarin. The palate is taut and fresh on the entry, slightly honeyed in texture but with fine acidic bite. There is a touch of spiciness, a little nutmeg on the aftertaste. This is a fine Pouilly-Fuissé with weight and length. (Neal Martin, Vinous, November 2021)

The 2016 Latricières-Chambertin Grand Cru, from a parcel purchased in 2008 with an average vine age of 96 years, has a wonderful, expressive bouquet with blackberry, raspberry, freshly rolled tobacco and just a hint of truffle. The palate is underpinned by very fine tannin, quite edgy and full of tension, potent sous-bois notes towards the animated finish. You can feel the wake of this wine 60 seconds after. Perhaps this is even better than the Romanée-Saint-Vivant? (Neal Martin, Vinous, July 2018)

Fruit forward on the nose with raspberry and cherry. Richly garnet in color. Cherry with a hint of raspberry finishing with leather and oak. Fuller flavored than a typical bourgogne while still feeling like a french pinot. Excellent “change of pace” bottle if you drink a lot of pinots. — 3 months ago
