High toned red fruit, some VA and lots of acidity. We decanted it to let it soften up a bit. Second time to drink Thévenet this month. Maximum drinking pleasure! His VV cuvée comes from a parcel with 70+ year old vynes and is aged in old oak barrels (that first belonged to Domaine Romanée-Conti), after a 'cool' (not cold) macération carbonique. — 9 years ago
It seems like the blend for this may change from vintage to vintage so it was hard to track down accurate percentages. Around 70% Gamay (from Morgon/Fleurie) with a bunch of other indigenous Jura varieties (could include some Petit Béclan, Gros Béclan, Geusche, Argant, Peurion, Portugais Bleu, Isabelle, Enfariné). The fruit is crunchy and spicy, well defined, with good minerality. Other reviews from past vintages mentioned Brett but I didn’t pick up any of that here. Enjoyable bottle. — 4 years ago
