Piaugier - Sablet - AOC Cotes du Rhone Village - 2011 -well balanced and structured- Grenache Blanc/Viognier/Clairette/Roussanne/Marsanne. Aromas/Flavors: White Flowers/Minerals. — 10 years ago
Last night I opened the 2019 Domaine de Piaugier Gigondas from À Sablet, France. A blend of 65% Grenache, 15% Syrah and 20% Mourvèdre.
On the nose is rich plum, blood orange, anise, black olive, reductive notes and potting soil.
On the palate is raspberry, strawberry, black cherry, black pepper, spice, star anise, leather and brambles.
This is a medium to full bodied wine with a velvety polished mouthfeel medium + acidity and medium to medium + grippy tannins that easily move into a long red & black fruit earthy finish. Have a productive week ahead and the next weekend will be here before you know it. Stay safe and healthy. Nostrovia! 🍷🍷🍷🍷 — 6 months ago
