Abe, the man who would be king, gifted this bottle (amongst many others) to me after being an Intern in 2013. They travelled from Napa to London to Western Australia.
15 years later on a Monday night of a week I wasn’t meant to be drinking…
I pulled it out of the wine fridge in Margaret River. Cork fresh as a daisy and some decent sediment on first pour. Aerated with Vinturi and poured. Some early VA blew away and a Star Was Born. The floral powderiness on my mid palate is intoxicating. Never before have I tasted a big inky, 15% delicate ballerina like this. So glad I opened it alone so we can have a week together understanding each other. Has to be Petite Syrah. Wine study X 1000 ♥️ Pretty Pimpin — a month ago

Beautiful nose of earthen scents, mid season cherry fruit, wild flowers, alpine grass and some sort of umami scents. Seems like it has more to give. Palate is fresh as a daisy with crazy energy and superb dark cherry fruit that really sticks to the palate. Terrific finish that clamps down. Awesome. A new value Pinot from Ziereisen’s Swiss project. Deep and ripe tannins and a lovey rusticity as well. Gorgeous minerals awash the finish along with loads of black cherry fruit. This is fantastic wine. Gets very chewy with air. But man the fruit here is extraordinary.

Sweet aroma,beautiful taste with a slight bitter. And than that typical taste of herbs. Like always in my case:my last bottle and just entering it's perfect drinking window. I'll have to check if my tambourine man can still play me a song 😂 — 8 years ago
